WiMax, I told ya so.

WiMAX, the Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, is a telecommunications technology that provides wireless data in a variety of ways, from point-to-point links to full mobile cellular type access.

So what this means the mobile network that your current cell phone uses to surf the internet, download ringers, screen savers and music will soon be upgraded to a network that is capable of delivering true broad band (like your cable modem, dsl or work network) speeds over an extremely large area (as long ‘re you’re in coverage).

When WiMax was revealed to be the next network that Sprint planned on building for mobile broadband I told everyone (at least anyone that would listen) that Google was going to either by the WiMax network or Sprint all together.

Well Google didn’t buy Sprint nor the Wimax network but G (google) did drop a nice chunk of change towards the new company that was formed when Sprint Spun off WiMax in a partnership with Clearwire.

The reason why I feel as though this is important is because these companies that are forming & backing this technology want everyone connected at any given time in place.

The main companies investing in the Wimax Network are:
Google
Comcast
Time Warner
Intel

Project that I’ve been working on.

For the past few months I’ve taken on a project in a field that I knew nothing about.

It was my idea to create a series of videos for people are that running OS X with Sprint branded mobile broad band cards.

I’m very familiar with Sprint products and how they operate with OS X but editing videos is was something that was foreign to me.
