Apple Magic (no buttons) Trackpad

It has been awhile since I’ve talked about Apple due to an issue that I have with their current Macbook Pro line up.

I’m still on my first generation Macbook which has serves it purpose for me and the current Macbook Pro line up really don’t do “it” for me to justify dropping 2k on a new laptop, especially since what I really want in the system would be a ssd (solid state drive http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solid-state_drive).

I’ve got to play around with some very expensive Apple computers but nothing that really just wow’d me (excluding the iPhone 4 display).

Today Apple wow’d me with the refresh of the Mac Pro with 12 cores and the Apple Magic.

I won’t talk much about the Mac Pro because it is essentially just a refresh.

The Apple Magic is starting the innovation ball for what will one day be what I witnessed in Minority Report.

The Apple Magic is the trackpad that comes built into Apples notebook line however this trackpad is for the desktop.

Apple has also filed patents for multi touch input devices which will continue to push their hardware.

The reason why Apple is the best is because they control their own hardware and software.

Now hopefully gives me a 13” Macbook Pro with an i7, SSD option.

Before you go think about this, “how long do you think it will before Apples begins to use their own chips (replacing Intel) made in house for their notebooks?

How long before we see the A4 chip in a notebook?

I’m currently in the market for a replacement for my Macbook due to some issues as well as limitations that I’ve encountered.

Keep in mind that my system is 37 months old and is also a first generation machine so I have certainly gotten my moneys worth.

The only issue that I have in giving up my system is the fact that I paid extra to get this thing in black and now they no longer make a black system, they’re all aluminum.

I have been shopping around and debating on if I want to go with a 13” or the 15”.

The 13” is a perfect size but it is coming up pretty short when it comes to specs.

The 13” Macbook Pro is still using the Intel Core 2 Duo processor which is what my system is currently running (well technically I have a Core Duo), which is four year old technology!

The 15” Macbook Pro comes in three models, two of which are running i5 processors from Intel.

I love the additional screen size (will come in handy for work), processor speed and the larger hard drive option.

The only thing that I dislike is the fact that there is more to carry and the price.

I’m going to need this machine to last as long as my current machine which brings me to my question of how long will we have to wait until we see Apple using the A4 chip in a notebook?

Apple purchased a chip company for more than just the iPhone & ipad not to mention that Apple seems to love controlling every aspect of their systems so I would assume it is only a matter of time before that chip (or variation of) starts showing up in their notebooks.

Here in lies the problem for me, do I wait to see what Apple is going to come up with or buy now and hope that by the time they start using the chip that I have the ability to buy a new machine without thinking about it?

Never burn bridges.

About a year ago I did a job for someone that was nothing more than a client (at the time).

Today I’m on the set of an animation studio learning the ins & outs of how animation, sitcom and movie production works.

I’m also receiving a hands on lesson in what it takes to run a multi million dollar organization.

None of this would have happened had it not been for a relationship that I had that ended on a sour note.

I’m not sure what caused the relationship that I was end to tour sour (besides her being crazy) but it did.

I’m a firm believer in not burning bridges and this time it actually paid off.

The reason that it paid off is because the lady whom I’m referring to was the person that originally introduced me to my boss.

For this, I owe her greatly and this experience has reaffirmed what I’ve also believed in;

NEVER BURN BRIDGES because you never know when you will need to cross them again.
