It feels good to be challenged

Over the weekend I had one of those days where everything was system critical.

It all started with me wanting to enjoy my day by watching an entire days worth of football.

Everything was smooth sailing until I got to 12:50PM and my boss called me stating that one of the monitors is out and the other has a folder with a “?” on it.

When I heard those words I jumped up immediately because he was having an OS problem with a machine that would be in use in less than a few hours.

It took me about twenty minutes to make it into the office (he needed the machine by 2:30), in the rain, in Atlanta traffic.

When I got there it took me around ten minutes to determine that the problem was the hard drive so I automatically assumed that we had lost everything on that drive.

Luckily we had a TimeMachine backup that was sitting on a Buffalo hard drive, where as the one that crapped out on me was the Western Digital (who I normally go with).

After about an hour of reinstalling the OS & restoring the original informaiton I was able to get the system back to 98% original status.

There are a few minor things that I haven’t figured out, such as why the Mighty Mouse trackpad option is missing under system preferences (hopefully one of the os updates resolved this).

Just when I thought that things were all good, something was thrown in to keep me on my toes.

Gotta stay focused on the objective in order to make the next step.

So thankful for my folks

Right now I’m sitting in front of at the very least half million dollars worth of equipment and I’m running it.

Had my parents not have purchased me a computer when I was younger, I really have no idea where I would be right now.

The job that I’m currently doing is an “IT” based job however it isn’t what I’ve specialized in for the majority of my life.

What I’ve worked on for the majority of my life got my foot into the door and my realization that this is the next step for me has guided me for the way.

I’m tired as crap but I’m actually loving every minute of what I’m doing and I’m learning.

So I’d like to give a big thank you to both my parents from the bottom of my heart!
