She didn’t listen.

People ask me questions, I give them answers but they hardly ever listen.

I still to this day don’t understand the point in asking someone a question, especially a tech related question then not listening to it.

Case in point a young lady by the name of “Dee.”

A few months ago I cleaned her system for her at no charge.

She had a few viruses on there that proved to be a pretty fun challenge but after about an hour I was able to get ALL of them removed without resorting to formatting the hard drive.

After I finished working on her machine I had her verify that everything was working, which she agreed on.

Her notebook was already in bad shape (missing a few keys) and she was telling me that she wanted to get another system.

I told her that the first thing that she needed to do was get an external hard drive from best buy and back up all of her information.

Once again she agreed and asked me which one she should buy.

I told gave her the link (at least I think I did) to a Best Buy ad and a Western Digital 250 gig drive that was a good price.

Silly me in thinking that she listened (most people don’t) to me.

A few months go by and I run into her again and the first words out of her mouth, “THE COMPUTER GUY.”

Not Dominik or Strip but the COMPUTER GUY.

She then told me what happened to her notebook.

I then asked her why didn’t she listen to me and she tried to blame me for her losing her information.

I got a nice portion of the conversation on film, check it out below:

It isn’t just individuals that don’t listen man. Trust me. I work with some of the big boys and they don’t even listen either.
