Teaching a five year old to type.
While attempting to regain focus I almost forgot a very vital part of my motivation, my daughter.
I haven’t forgotten her in the sense that I’m not thinking about her best interest but I have neglected to teach her some of the basics of using a computer & technology to her advantage.
My daughter has been around computers since she was a baby (in my arm while I was on the pc) so having a computer around her at all times is very natural to her however she is just now understanding what she can do with computers.
So far I’ve planted the seed in her mind that she can find anything that she wants to using the internet if she is willing to search for it.
I’ve just introduced the power of making money online if she were able to capture an audience but teaching her how to captivate an audience is something that I’ve to speak with her about (I’ve yet to master this skill myself).
This of course means that I’ve also introducing the concept of money to her, especially now more than ever considering the fact that our economy is what it is.
All of these concepts sound great in theory, and if she can understand them at her age even better.
If she can’t utilize what she has learned due to a failure to execute, then I’ve failed in teaching her what she needed to know in order to execute her ideas.
With that said I’m going to teach a five year old how to type so that she will not only hear about some of the things that she can do with computers but also visualize what she can create on her own.
After all, President Obama became the most powerful man in the world in four years.
