Good day to be a consumer
Today the world was officially introduced to Googles new mobile operating system dubbed Android.
This is a completely free operating system that has the possibility to compete with OS X (iPhone), Windows Mobile and the Palm OS in due time.
Out of the box it does a lot of what you would expect (at least according to reviews) but leaves a lot to be desired.
Considering this is the first version of a free OS I would say that it looks pretty good even though its on the wrong mobile network (T-Mobile).
I will be sitting on pins and needles waiting on an Android based phone to drop on Sprint with EVDO or Wimax (more than likely EVDO).
This move by Google will force EVERYONE to step their game up.
Think about it, the number one company in terms of search has just released an operating system for cell phones!
This is going to have an even bigger impact on the mobile market and how we access information than the iPhone had in terms of hardware.
