My feet have stopped hurting.
The Bronner Brothers 2008 Hair Show completed about a week ago and I have ALMOST recovered completely from the show.
My plans (sales pitch, attire, hair cut, etc) for the show went exactly how I wanted them to go but I didn’t hit my goal for the amount of sales that I wanted to make.
Before the show I knew that the economy was bad and I even preached to people about saving as well as the fact that we’re pretty close to an actual depression.
I should have applied my own logic to the advice that I was giving to others, especially in regards to how others spending habits, even more so for a product that is still seen by a lot of people as a “luxury item.”
People just weren’t spending the type of money that they were last year however it was should have been expected.
Even though I didn’t hit my sales goal I do have a few positive notes:
Last year when I attended the hair show I had to leave the city of Atlanta and come back home (7 months later I moved).
This time I was home and I used the fact that I’m now a resident of Atlanta to my advantage in terms of doing business in Atlanta.
I made some key contacts with people in and around the area that are in the hair care industry.
A few of the contacts are the top hair stylists in Atlanta, which will hopefully provide me some insight on the industry that they’ve mastered in a city that is full of my potential customers.
Only time will tell.
I must admit that I got a bunch of attention thanks to a the shirts that I had one of my contacts in Atlanta make for me.
Below are a few pictures of me in the shirts.
