No such thing as a coincidence.
The older that I’ve gotten the more that I’ve come to accept the fact that everything happens for a reason and there is no such thing as a coincidence.
The story that I’m about to tell is what caused me to accept this reality.
During the summer of 07 I was given the opportunity (which I’m extremely thankful for) to become a supervisor at my job which isn’t something that I ever wanted but it was the next logical step for my job.
I gave being a “leader” a try for a few months and I hated every minute of it.
It got so bad that I was going home every night and taking three or four shots just to try to get to sleep and forget about the hell opportunity that I was given.
I would come to work and from the moment that I got out of my truck and began walking through the parking lot my chest would get tight.
I hated doing the work as well as the people that I was working with which is the exact opposite of me.
I figured that if I did this long enough I would get used to being an adult baby sitter but fate had something else planned for me.
During this time my mother was planning the release of her uRulax heat deflector shield which was to be launched at the Bronner Brothers Hair Show in Atlanta during the same time that I was going to take my family to Worlds of Fun.
Two weeks before my trip I was talking to my mother and something told me to volunteer my services to my mother and she gladly accepted my proposal.
So I cancelled my family trip and decided to help my mom which wasn’t that big of deal but I had no reason to go on that trip besides an inner voice that gave me some guidance.
The following monday I was on my lunch break sitting in my truck (debating on if I wanted to drive home or go back to work) when I got a phone call from a number that was from my hometowns area code yet the number wasn’t programmed in my phone.
I answered the phone and heard a familiar voice but I didn’t know who was on the other end or how they got my phone number.
I continued to talk and after about five minutes I recognized the voice as well as the personality.
It was my boy freeknek (Dominick) who moved to Atlanta a few years ago.
I hadn’t talked to him since the funeral of one of our close friends which was four years ago.
I still don’t know how he got my phone number or what prompted him to call me the week before I was flying to his city.
During our conversation I told him that I was going to be at the Bronner Brothers Hair Show and when I got a chance I would catch up with him.
To my surprise he told me that his uncle owns a catering company that has a contract with the Georgia World Conference Center and that he would be at the hair show.
By this time it was time for me to return to hell work so we had to end our conversation but for the rest of the day I continued to ask myself if this was a coincidence or part of something much greater than what I was currently doing.
wish you the best of luck hope to hear from you dont think just cause your leaving dont mean you cant stay in touch even if i didnt cook lol
