My little sister is now an adult.

It’s official now, I’m old.

My baby sister has officially turned 21 today which should be a wake up call for her since she is now legally an adult but her birthday also serves as a wake up call for me.

Im a few years older than Heather (my sister) so I’m sure that she looks up to me in certain aspects in life, even if she won’t admit it.
In seven days I will be in the city of Atlanta to make sure that I can see myself living in “Hotlanta.”

Physically I’m still in Oklahoma and going to work everyday but mentally I’m grinding in Atlanta.

I have a few reasons for the trip:

  • I need to burn 60 hours of vacation.
  • I want to make sure that I can see myself as well as my family moving to Atlanta.
  • Get a better feel for the women of the city so that I can push the uRulax Heat Deflector Shield
  • Get a feel for the types of clients that can benefit from my web based service.
  • The people that I’ve talked to regarding my move tell me that I can achieve whatever level of success that I want if I put in the work and NOT lose focus.

Not losing focus in a city like Atlanta is a lot easier said than done because there seems to be always something to do.

For example there is an R.Kelly concert featuring NE-Yo, Keisha Cole and J. Holiday the day that I fly into the city.

I’m not a huge R.Kelly fan or any of the other artists but that’s a hell of a concert.

Coincidence or a test to see where my focus will be in a city that is the mecca for entertainment?

Only time will tell which decisions I make but as of right now I’m on auto pilot until my plane touches down next thursday.

When Heather was younger she used to mimic some of the things that she observed me doing.

She liked to play the games that I played, same sports as well as some of my habits.

She did develop her own identity but we still share some of the same traits which we both got from our parents.

The question that I asked myself this morning while I speaking to my “little sister” was what traits, habits or influences am I having on my now grown little sister?

Hopefully she picks up on my work ethic, how I treat people and what I’m trying to accomplish in life.

If she chooses to pick up some of my bad traits or habits then what can I do besides talk to her more than I’ve done in the 21 years that she’s been in my life and pray that she always makes the right decision? So to my big headed little sister Happy Birthday and I love you.
